- Winter Commencement is on Friday, December 15, 2023 at IU Auditorium at 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Check the schedule above soon for details on arrival times, graduate lineup location, seating, parking and other important information.
- While all IU Bloomington faculty members are heartily welcomed to attend Winter Commencement, it is especially important for the research chairs of doctoral students to attend in order to hood their students.
- If you are the research chair of a doctoral student who will be hooded at Commencement, you and the student must arrange to meet at the student lineup area so that you can walk with the student in the procession and be seated together. The student lineup area will be announced soon. If you are unable to attend Commencement, our team will appoint a faculty member who is in attendance to hood your student.
- Faculty members who will not be hooding a doctoral student are still encouraged to attend. You should also meet in the student lineup area.
- Faculty parking will be announced soon.
- Please remember to wear your academic apparel. Links to the Herff Jones faculty apparel order form will be provided to faculty in the fall semester. The apparel will be lent to you, free of charge, and it will be easy (and free) to mail the apparel back to Herff Jones after the ceremony.
- Personal items such as bags, umbrellas, and briefcases cannot be stored, so please leave them in your vehicle.

- Undergraduate Commencement will be help tentatively on Saturday, May 4, 2024. Time is TBA.
- Undergraduate Commencement is an outdoor ceremony that is held rain or shine, unless there is severe weather, in which case you will be informed of a contingency plan.
- All IU Bloomington faculty members are heartily welcomed to attend Undergraduate Commencement. All faculty members in attendance are encouraged to assist with the ceremony by leading graduates from your school in the procession.
- Free faculty parking will be available near Memorial Stadium.
